CHARITY

Forward

The congregation at Higher Bebington URC may be small in number but it is big in heart and takes seriously its responsibilities to the community.  Throughout the year food is donated to the Wirral Food Bank. Other charities which benefit from our support are Charles Thompson Mission Birkenhead, The Liverpool Mission for Seamen. In this country we rely very heavily on shipping to provide so many of our daily needs. The seamen spend months away at a time from their families; they are often poorly paid and may have nothing more than the clothes they stand up in. The mission gives them clothes for themselves and their families and items they can take home; as well as providing recreational and pastoral support,

We also support the Christian Aid Charity, Wirral Hospice St John's Charity and the teams4u Shoebox Appeal

Christian Aid Week

2019 Appeal 12th to 18th May

Collections from our local community

A total of £891.00 was raised this year thanks to the kind donations of our local residents and help of members of our church in distributing and collecting Christian Aid Envelopes

The Church also collects for Liverpool Seafarers Centre.

If you have any jigsaw puzzles, new and used cd's, mens clothing and household items you can donate them via the church on a Monday afternoon and bring hope and comfort to many less fortunate than ourselves.
